Shea Baker Ranch Development will become the City of Lake Forest’s largest home development.
Seven new Tract Maps have been recorded for the first seven communities planned by Shea Homes and Toll Brothers. Toll Brothers are known for the first-class projects and Shea is known for their quality. This first phase will include 440 lots encompassing 92.4 acres if the 386-acre site. The Shea Baker development is on the city's northeast side next to Irvine. The project will be bordered by the 241 toll road on the north, Bake Parkway, Dimension, Alton and what will be the expansion of Rancho Parkway on the south and unincorporated land on the west.
When complete the Shea Baker Ranch development will contain 2379 homes with at least 20 new neighborhoods. The California style homes, condos and apartments are planned for land that was once under the flight path of the former El Toro Marine base. There will be seven neighborhood parks, one of which will include a dog park, two linear parks and a 7-acre community park. At least 25,000 square feet of commercial space is also planned. The land now is a mix of nursery, agricultural and vacant land.
Toll Bros., the nation's largest luxury home builder has been building in California for nearly 20 years. The company's first development opened in 1994 in Yorba Linda. Since then they have also built in Coto De Caza, San Juan Capistrano and Laguna Niguel. The Shea family and Toll Brothers have great pride in this development which will include state-of-the-art recreational features. The landscaping and parks will make the development exclusive and unique. All parks will be connected by trails. Residents and the public will be able to hike the community on loops that range from three to eight miles. The project will also include a diversity of housing but maintain the character of Lake Forest by offering more traditional homes with back yards and driveways.
Model homes in the first seven communities planned by Shea Homes and Toll Brothers could be toured by prospective buyers by the end of 2013. The grand opening of the first phase is projected for spring 2014.
