One of a Kind Artisan Cheese and Wine Shop

Two friends Hans-Erich Vogel and John Bennett left their corporate careers to follow their passion and on May 5, 2011, John and Erich opened Vin Goat in Corona del Mar. Orange County’s premier cheese shop, featuring artisan cheese from around the world, specialty wines and other cupboard essentials, including cured meats, pate, gourmet breads, and homemade croutons, olives, and Johns specialty pickles. The focus of their efforts is on small batch, traditionally made items, produced from locally sourced ingredients.

Vin Goat offers a variety of custom-made artisan cheese or charcuterie boards. Customers can drop in for a visit and the friendly staff will offer you tastes and help you discover your new favorite artisan cheese, or work with you to create a cheese board that will impress your guests.

If you are a cheese and wine lover, you must attend one of the many intimate wine and cheese pairing events held 2- 3 times each month at Vin Goat. The events are themed based and guests are served a selection of at least five boutique vintage wines all paired with cheeses from different regions around the world. The evening begins with a glass (or two) of bubbly and guests can introduce themselves while sampling gourmet appetizers. Once the guests are seated the pairings begins with owner John Bennett introducing the staff and the knowledgeable representative from the showcases vineyard who describes the various wines to be sampled. Cheese monger Eric Vogel explains all the details about the cheese, including where and how they are produced. At the end of the evening there is always a surprise dessert prepared by John Bennett. This is a perfect event for celebrating a Birthday or special occasion.
